Lord and Lady Curzon visit Hyderabad.

 1905

The Victoria Memorial Orphanage was established.

 1948

Hyderabad was liberated on September 17 from the feudal rule of the Nizam ; it joined the Union States of Independent India.

 1951

Salar Jung Museum was inaugurated by Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on December 16.

First General Elections were held.

State of Andhra Pradesh was formed on November 1.

For the first time captive bred crocodiles from Nehru Zoological Park were released into rivers Krishna and Godavari.
