 1804 

The construction of Mir Alam tank begins. It was completed on June 8, 1806.
 1806 


Secunderabad was named after Sikandar Jah, Asaf Jah III, when Col. Land established the head-quarters of British subsidiary force after the Treaty of 1798. It was one of the largest British cantonments in India.
 1854

Foundation of Dar-ul-Uloom, with facilities for teaching in Arabic, Urdu, Persian, Telugu, Marathi and English,was laid by Sir Salar Jung I Top

 1856

Department of Mint & Stamps was established with Major Henry Rocke as the Mint Master.

 1858

Army Department was established

 1863

First post office, the Sadar Tappa Khana, was established.

Major Henry Rocke was made the First Commander-in-Chief of the Nizam's Army.

 1867

Government Central Printing Press is established.

Forest Department was established with Byramji Monoji as its first Inspector General. Top

Basheerbagh palace was constructed by Sir Asman Jah.

Nizam State Railway was established. 1874 - Nizam State Railway was completed and opened to traffic.

 1876

Foundation of Chadarghat High School was laid.

 1879

Horse Racing starts at Malakpet.

 1880

Postal Department was established with Shah Sawar Jung as its Chief.

 1884

Foundation of Falaknuma Palace was laid on March 3, 1884 by Sir Viquar-ul-Umara. Construction was completed in 1893.

Official language of the State was changed from Persian to Urdu.

Directorate General of Police & Jail Department was established. Top

Asafia Library was established.

 1893

Archduke Frany Ferdinand of Austria visits Hyderabad.

 1897

Sir Ronald Ross discovered the cause of Malaria in dissected Anopheles Mosquito at Begumpet.
