1591  Charminar was built by Quli Qutb Shah and a new city was founded on the south bank of River Musi.  1687  Golconda was captured by Aurangazeb signifying the end of Qutb Shahi rule and beginning of the Mughal rule in Deccan.  1713 Nizam-ul-Mulk was appointed Subedar of six subas of the Deccan and Faujdar of Karnataka.  1725  Emperor Mohammed Shah confers the title of Asaf Jah on Nizam-ul-Mulk.    1738 Nadir Shah invades India and Nizam-ul-Mulk plays a key role in restoring peace.  1750  Chow Mohalla Palace was built by Salabat Jung.  1763 The Capital of Deccan is shifted from Aurangabad to Hyderabad during the reign of Nizam Ali Khan, Asaf Jah II.   1779  The first representative of the British, John Holland, is sent to Hyderabad to act as an envoy and later as a Resident.  1783  The British Court and the British Post Office were established.					1591 to 1783 1804 to 1897 1902 to 2000 Historical Events Other Links Language and demography Art Galleries Handicrafts Museums Historical Places Places of Interest Pilgrimage Centres Coastal Areas Towns and Cities of Interest
