Summer holidays are here again! The school and exams are over. But learning never stops, it goes on. Forget those movies, TV programmes and cricket and enjoy the summer in a novel, funny way. The city has come alive as never before, offering the children, a wide choice from indoor games to cultural activities and sports to treks.

Family World, near Begumpet Airport, offers training for kids in swimming, Western music, gymnastics, tennis, table tennis, clay modelling, western dance, Indian dance, soft toy making and yoga. A child can choose any four of these disciplines.

Fee Rs. 2000 to Rs. 2500. Transport facility will be provided on additional payment of Rs. 800.Timing 9 am to 12 noon.

If your child is fascinated by any of the following - Photography, Videography, Video games, Nature camp, Aero modelling, Shooting, Horse riding and skating - then there is no better choice than, Creative Child Centre, located in the Oxford Grammar School, Himayatnagar. For those who like to continue their training in extracurricular activities even after summer holidays can join Jawahar Balbhavan, located in the Public Gardens. Jawahar Balbhavan imparts year long training in a variety of disciplines like toy making, painting, Carnatic Music, Veena, Tabla, Mridangam, Kathak, Bharata Natyam, Karate, Drama and Skating. The Balbhavan summer camp of this year will be held from April 24 to June 10. Children between 6 and 16 years are eligible for this camp.

Andhra Balananda Sangham, Narayanaguda, would be an ideal place for those children, who want to be orators and writers in future. The month long camp starts from 1st May 2001. Children below 15 years are eligible for the summer camp. It would train children in drawing, painting, handi crafts, yoga, art of public speaking, magic, etc. The institute runs a young authors club which gives tips to children for improving different writing skills. The children will get an opportunity to show their acquired talents on the last day of the camp.

For those children who like to have a short term camp in Art related activities can look towards Shilparamam, the Arts and Crafts Village at Madhapur. Children between 8 and 12 years are eligible for the said courses. Wood carving, Straw picture making, Banjara needle embroidery, Pottery, Bathik print, Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam and Kathak are some of the important areas that will be covered during the camp.

Duration: May 1 to 15.
Timings 10 am to 7 pm.
