The year 1978 saw Dr AVS Raju take that single step along with like-minded people to establish NCC. It was the vision of this simple man who believes in human values, common sense and value of time.
It has been journey of excellence since then. Starting off with the corporate office in Hyderabad, regional offices were opened to facilitate the geographical spread of new projects. NCC was listed on the BSE & NSE stock exchanges in 1992.
The year 1995 saw NCC crossing a turnover of Rs. One billon. The Property Division was established in 1996 followed by the Transportation Division in 1998. The Water, Electrical, Power, Irrigation, Metals, Oil & Gas Divisions ere established subsequently. The GDRs, of the Company are listed on the Luxembourg stock exchange. The enormous trust placed by foreign institutional investors is reflected by the investment of US $ 100 million as on date by the Blackstone group of USA.
The Company has offices in Muscat (Oman) and Dubai (UAE) and has bagged projects in these countries.
NCC is a vision seen in exemplary clarity by Dr. AVS Raju, architect, planner and builder close to three decades ago.
The Company has reported a Turnover of Rs 1734 crores (excluding other income) for the quarter ended 31.03.2011 as against Rs 1812 crores of the corresponding quarter of the last fiscal. The company posted an EBIDTA of Rs 197.02 crores and net profit of Rs 50.37 crores as against Rs 220.75 crores and Rs 91.94 crores respectively in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The company has reported an EPS of Rs 1.96 for the 4th quarter as against Rs 3.58 (excluding exceptional item) in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
The Company has achieved a turnover of Rs 6230 Crores (excluding other income) for the year ended 31st March 2011 as against turnover of Rs 5897 crores in the Previous Year, registering a growth of 6%. The Company posted an EBIDTA of Rs 714.98 Crores and net profit after tax of Rs 222.19 crores for the year as against Rs 658.92 Crores and Rs 242.32 crores (excluding exceptional item) respectively in the Previous Year. The Company has reported an EPS of `.8.66 in the year ended 31st March, 2011 as against Rs 9.90 (excluding exceptional item) in the previous year.
The order book of the Company stood at Rs. 16180 crores as on 31.03.2011.
